چکیده

This paper studies order reduction issues for a vehicle active suspension system throughout its modelling, H-infinity controller design and controller refinement. Computer simulations demonstrate that an H-infinity controller for a full active suspension can be significantly reduced to nearly one third of its full order, while the active suspension performance is only slightly degraded. As a by-product, this paper also provides an explicit algorithm for reduced Hinfinity control for singular and non-singular continuoustime systems.

Switched H∞ Control Strategy of Automotive Active Suspensions

The three main performance metrics in automotive suspensions are passenger comfort, suspension deflection, and road holding ability. It is well-known that these three objectives can not be reached at the same time. In order to reach them “individually”, three linear H∞ controllers are designed. At each moment, the desired performance requirement is chosen with a robust stable control strategy t...

Active Control of Suspension Systems based on H inf technique

There are many types of car suspensions control, H∞ control of vehicle suspension is studied in the literature for a brave time ago. We can define active suspensions as control systems incorporating a parallel spring and an electronically controlled damper. The contribution of this paper relies on H∞ control design to improve comfort and road holding of the car, and on control validation throug...

Robust Control of Active Suspensions Using Sliding Modes

In this study, a four degrees of freedom vehicle model is used in order to design and check the performance of sliding mode controlled active suspensions. Force actuators are mounted parallel to the suspensions and a non-chattering control is realized. Sliding mode control is preferred because of its robust character since any change in vehicle parameters should not affect the performance of th...

Adaptive Control of Partially Known Systems and Application to Active Suspensions

In this paper, an adaptive control method is proposed for systems whose structures can be divided into a known part and an unknown part. A nonadaptive control design, such as H∞ control design can be introduced into the known part of the system, and adaptive control can cope with the unknown part to realize the property designed by non-adaptive control. This is achieved by means of backstepping...

An LP V/H∞ integrated Vehicle Dynamic Controller

This paper is concerned with the design and analysis of a new multivariable LPV/H∞ (Linear Parameter Varying) robust control design strategy for Global Chassis Control. The main objective of this study is to handle critical driving situations by activating several controller subsystems in a hierarchical way. The proposed solution consists indeed in a two-step control strategy that uses semiacti...
